The Louisiana Fellowship supports two scholarships.

The Together for Hope Scholarship is for a student from our Together for Hope parishes to attend Arkansas Baptist College in Little Rock. This scholarship grew out of our annual Spring Football Clinic in Lake Providence which features Dr. Fitz Hill, President of Arkansas Baptist College and former Head Football Coach at Division 1 San Jose State.

Arkansas Baptist College provides excellent mentoring and nurturing and is an ideal partner for our Together for Hope work. Greg Bell of Lake Providence is the current recipient of this scholarship. Funding comes from individuals around the state and from a scholarship offering taken each year during the concluding rally of the football clinic.

The Maggie Lee Henson Scholarship for Female Church Planters was instituted in memory of Maggie Lee a vivacious 12 year old girl who died as result of injuries sustained in a church bus accident in 2009. Maggie was the daughter of John and Jinny Henson, a church planting couple who have now started their 3rd congregation, Church for the Highlands, in Shreveport.  Maggie Lee was herself a vibrant part of an earlier church start and was baptized by her father in a church start.

The goal of this scholarship is to nurture and train a Woman in Ministry in her final year of theological education at a CBF partner school and provide a ministry internship at Church for the Highlands in developing church planting skills. Money is still being raised for this scholarship. Give to the scholarship fund here.
