Past CBF-LA Moderator Mike Anderson Returns
From Mission to the Philippines

Dr. Mike Anderson, pastor of Haynes Avenue Baptist Church - Shreveport and Past
Moderator of CBF-LA, recently returned from a mission trip to the Philippines. It was
a return to the country where he once served as an international missionary.

The mission group included Marilyn Anderson, Claire Anderson, Carl Wilkinson and
Anna Kendrick. Together they made a 16 day trip to Davao City, Philippines, June 20 to July 6th.
They were involved with several churches, inclluding Davao International Baptist Church,(DIBC),
Davao Christian Heritage Baptist Church, Chinese Baptist Church, as well as Southern Philippines
Baptist Theological Semiary.

  The team coordinated with the groups to conduct seminars in Apologetics, conduct eye clinics, do hypertension and wellness screening  at three locations, and preached and sang in these churches.

Anderson states, "We did screening and gave away glasses to many and witnessed many professing
faith in Jesus. Dr. Steve Patton contributed the eye glasses, but medical problems prevented him from going. The trip was long, with an exhausting schedule, but all were impacted by the ministry and
God's working, to God's glory."
